Cuyahoga River
A part of the Cuyahoga River that winds through my little town.

Dear Summer,

You were beautiful, but I’ve had enough of you. You’re nice and hot and all, but you were just a little too steamy for my taste. I need someone a little cooler now, someone who will let me have a good night’s sleep and not bother me all night. I want someone who can let me cuddle and feel cozy, someone who won’t wear me out! You were just so tiring, it felt like you were sucking the life out of me. I know it won’t last this time around, it never does. You’ll be back around next year with your hotness and I’ll fall in love with you all over again. We had a good time, Summer, but I think its time we went our separate ways. I have a new love now, its name is Autumn and I’m falling in love.

Signed,
Your wishy-washy lover.

what matters
Well said. Found here.

I’ve wrestled with this idea for months. I did my research on different ways to monetize, read umpteenmillion articles on how to do it, which methods work the best, and so on. “You need a niche!”, one said. A niche? When I started my blog, I did it solely to satisfy my urge to write. Its what I’ve wanted to do all along, and it took me years to figure out that its the only thing I want to do.

So, I’m getting tired of trying to be tanned. Its not quite the fact that its the end of summer and I’ve tanned a lot, I really haven’t done much this year to tan. Its also not quite the fact that tanning is unhealthy (with the sun/tanning beds anyway) but that it takes money that I’m not willing to give up on something unnecessary like that. I was getting annoyed at the sunless tanning lotions because they left an irritating, greasy residue on my skin. Sure it looked nice afterwards, but my laziness caught up with me and I just couldn’t be bothered with it.

“Among other things, you will be challenged to demonstrate that your ideals are not just irrelevant, impractical abstractions. You will also have to demonstrate that your views are based on realism rather than some dream world, which is where you may very well be now. At any rate, this time will give you the opportunity to find out.” ~ From my horoscope at astro.com today.

Ha! That sounds like the theme of my life, not just the current time period. But I guess right now things seem to be coming to a head. I think I purposely, but subconsciously put myself in hard situations so I have to work my way out and become better than I was. I’m such a bitch to myself sometimes. :D

My allergies are acting up and I had a mini asthma attack a few nights ago. Yay for late summer allergies, among other not-so-fun current events. Thankfully there are a few things that are distracting me right now.

Stuff

Pure Ice Nailpolish

Pure Ice. I end up eyeballing these pretty colors every time I get sucked into the cosmetics department at Wal-Mart. I already had the blue one “Celestial”, so I got the sparkly blue “Strapless” to put over top of it because I like matching colors of glitter with solid colors. I also thought the steely gray “Kiss Me Here” and “Purple Reign” (wearing that now) would be good colors for fall. I really love the fact that they are opaque with the first coat (unless they are glitter) and for $2 each, hell yes.

The lovely Krissy tagged me! Its like the “If I were a ___, I’d be a ___.” one that I did before, only with visual aides.

I tag everyone who wants to do this. Let me know that you did and I’ll link you here, how about that? You’re it.

If I were a colour, I’d be… rainbow.

Cake fight
Getting into food fights since 8/11/07 (I started it).

I could’ve posted a nice picture with us in our formal wedding attire (we didn’t walk down the aisle like that!) but this picture is much more us. I love that the camera caught the cake pieces flying through the air! I couldn’t pass up the chance to have the “cake fight”, its a very special moment. After the wedding party pictures were taken everyone changed into their casual clothes. This was the last time I ever wore a skirt, and I wore that tiara all day.

We got married on the deck of our old house. It was a nice big deck and our wedding was pretty small, which was what we wanted. Our friend knew a minister who came out and married us, and it all came together to make one really memorable day with no mishaps. One of the best days of my life, so far!

In a way, I consider this to be our 5th anniversary because we started dating in August of 2005. We’ve been in love for that long, and the marriage part is just a legal piece of paper and a ring. The love is what we’re celebrating.

Red highlights

No, my hair is not attacking me, I’m standing by the fan in my office. I finally got around to dying my hair Saturday night, after trying to decide which color/s to go with. I decided on red because I haven’t done it in quite a while (last year it was blue and purple). I put the “Rock ‘n’ Roll Red” (Manic Panic) all over to give my brown hair a reddish tint, as well as dye my peek-a-boo highlights.

I wanted to do one of these because its funny to see what’s inside my bag if you somehow pried it away from me. Have some diapers, wet wipes, tampons, a toy car and $2. Enjoy, Mr. Purse Thief.

I had a conversation with someone close to me recently and it made me realize my opinions on a certain subject. She wants to go to college for another few years to become an RN, but I knew she was drawn to something else, so I asked her if that was what she really wants to do. She said no, she doesn’t really know what she wants to do. From my experience, if its not something you love and not something you’re sure you want to, then why rack up tons of school loans for it?
